Labor Day Heroes

What great temperatures we are having this week as we prepare to celebrate Labor Day! There is nothing like the feeling of Fall in the air, and less humidity means your hairstyles will last a bit longer ladies! In other news around the shop today, three generations of law officers and veterans found common ground through both comical and heart touching life stories.  Nothing like meaningful "shop talk" moments! Happy Birthday to J B Vip Mr. Horrace Allen (also pictured) who will celebrate his 80th birthday on next week! What an awesome day it was! Thanks for being valued customers! Others of you are proud parents of those returning to school or going off for the first time! We know this season can be extremely busy and complex,  so we wanted to wish you all the best!

Don't forget to prioritize your personal grooming also in this change of season. Temperature extremes plus a busy lifestyle can damage hair! Call in early for your appointment to beat the crowd!

Hair Weave Crime Wave Is Sweeping the Nation

What's Up Vip's

How embarrassing was it to have the black hair weave industry made fun of by the hilarious comedian "Chris Rock" in his film documentary, "Good Hair"?

Although the film was lighthearted and informative,  it may have brought even greater attention to the billion dollar industry of hair weave, and excited thieves, who are now turning their focus on beauty supply store owners.  As funny as the movie was, we can not discount the real crime here. A business owner has been murdered!   We also can not place blame on the documentary for examining some truths about the industry. We shoud be careful about what we expose.....but who would think that selling hair was as dangerous as this.  At Johnson's Beauty & Barber, we promote YOUR healthy hair...but if some of us choose to WEAVE it, you should not have to loo twice before getting into your car leaving the beauty supply shop!!!! This is terrible! ! .... And once again, could drive up the cost of products and services to consumers!!!

On a lighter note.... these incedents could spark a MAJOR WEAVE LOCK-DOWN IN STORES EVERYWHERE.
So don't be surprised if you have to buy it from
behind a glass window!!! :)

Praise Reports from JB Vip Alkaline Water Drinkers Are In!!!

Hey I believe we are on to something here!  First of all....you guys have been ordering so much of this Essentia water that today when we stopped by for our order,  Lovey's was OUT OF IT and had to reorder for us!! Ok Vip's great responsiveness to your personal healthcare!

Today two JB Customers who have started on this water have reported that they have energy,  no longer itching from eczema,  have reduced acid reflux,  and no more dry chapped lips...We will keep you posted on that.

Today we are featuring an updo style for those of you who are planning a wedding or to attend an elegant event soon.  You bring the hair. ..we'll supply the products! Give us a call!

Alkaline Water Update and A New Customer Recommended Event!

Hello Again Vip's!
Just want to update you on our last blog concerning the alkaline water and where you can find it locally.

Afer our last week session,  one Vip went to Tidal Creek Health Foods on Oleander Dirve in Wilmington,  and found it sold by the case in (24 count) 12oz bottles for around 32 bucks.  We did our own reaserch and discovered it also at Lovely's Health Food Grocer in the Landfall shopping center on Military Cutt-off Rd. for the same price...EXCEPT they had 50 oz bottles in stock, and can order them (12 count) in a case for same price!!! OK?! YOU Do the math!!! That's nearly 200 ounces MORE for the same price!! 

The manager there "Donna", was very helpful... we agree that after a week of drinking it, the taste is smoother than what we were drinking before.

On yesterday, JB Vip customer Billy Johnson suggested two events that you should consider attending.  We have posted pictures of both as well!  Have a safe Friday night! If you're due for a "DO"...then we'll see you in the AM!!!

Are You Drinking Water For Better Hair and Skin?

That was the shop talk today.  In fact the discussion got more interesting when JB Vip customer Dr. Brenda Taylor suggested that we all consider drinking water with a pH factor of 8 or better.  The brand she likes is call Essentia. It is available locally at a few health food stores. The better the pH, the greater chance your blood will not be too acidic; which has been linked to many diseases such as cancer. 

Wow! Who knew you can still get good information just by getting a hairdo!!!!!  Let us know what you know, think or have discovered too! And with your permission,  we will share it with our Vip Blog readers.

Nonetheless,  whatever you are drinking, water should be consumed more than it!! Then you will truly see a healthier head of hair and skin.
